Indian River Celebrates Flag Day
Indian River Colony Club, FL: Celebrates flag, military.
> Indian River Colony Club, Melbourne-Viera FL held a special event this past Flag Day, June 14, as 35 IRCC residents gathered in the community’s Freedom Park to properly retire approximately 80 flags. After the pledge of allegiance, the group spent the morning cutting up and then burning the flags.
Many of the star panels were saved for use by the neighborhood’s sewing club, which uses them to make pillows with small embroidered patriotic squares and stars. The club distributes the pillows to members of the military who are deploying overseas. Send me more information about Indian River Colony Club!
New Sommelier at Sailfish Point
Sailfish Point, FL: Wine expert is now certified sommelier.
> Sailfish Point, Stuart FL is pleased to announce that Alex Delcamp has achieved the status of Certified Sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers. After passing the level one examination in December of 2017, Alex successfully passed level two this past April, which officially certifies him as a Sommelier.
Alex is in charge of the wine service for all of Sailfish Point’s a la carte dining venues, Gourmet Wine Dinners and Wine Expos. In addition, he oversees staff wine training, pairings and the club’s Wine Locker Program. Send me more information about Sailfish Point!
