MARTHA’S VINEYARD HAPPENINGS
MV Sharks: Opening Day tonight.
> It’s Opening Day tonight for the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League. The FCBL fields eight teams in New England that groom college stars for the big leagues.
The game gets underway at 6 pm at the Shark Tank (MV High School) in Oak Bluffs where the Sharks will face off against the Brockton Rox. Heading into its third year, the FCBL can point with pride to this year’s Major League Baseball Draft in which at least 12 Futures League players were drafted by the Phillies, Mets, Red Sox, Dodgers and others.
