> Viniterra, New Kent VA passes along news that the New Kent Winery will making mulled wine with its White Norton varietal on weekends now through the end of the year.

On Saturdays and Sundays, this warm winter treat will be on sale by the glass throughout the day.

Here’s the mulled wine recipe:

2 bottles of New Kent Winery White Norton
2 Tbsp Sugar
2 bags of Old Tradition Mulling Spice

Combine ingredients in crock pot and warm on medium heat. Once the wine starts to warm, reduce heat to low. Steep 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Do not boil. Serve and enjoy! Send me more information about Viniterra!

> Balsam Mountain Preserve, NC keeps the winter social season humming with unique events like its Great Cookie Exchange, happening Sat., Dec. 8 at The Boarding House. Participants bring 48 cookies to swap with friends and neighbors and plan to stay for lunch.
