> Frederica, St. Simon’s Island GA is reporting that real estate sales picked up significantly in 2012. A total of 20 properties were closed on during the year. Eighteen of these were homesite sales and two were homes. Several lot purchasers have started construction and many others plan to begin construction in the next 1-3 years.
These new homes will greatly enhance the appeal of Frederica and further increase the sense of community. When the current new ownership acquired Frederica there were 13 completed homes. Since that time, 14 additional homes have been started or completed. Send me more information about Frederica!
Daniel Island, SC is enjoying increased real estate activity.
Daniel Island, Charleston, SC is reporting that more of its properties sold in 2012 than in the previous four years. Compared to 2011, single-family home sales in 2012 increased 10% and homesite sales were up 20%. There is currently less than three months’ inventory of homes priced under $1 million, and only three months of condominium inventory.
Prices are increasing, with the median home price up 12% in 2012. Also, properties are selling more quickly: The average number of days on market for single-family homes sold in 2012 was just over three months, down slightly from 2011. Finally, foreclosures were down 23% in 2012, and short sales were down 38%. Send me more information about Daniel Island!
