Indian River CC, FL Nonprofit Helps Vets
Indian River Colony Club, FL: Continues nonprofit work.
> Indian River Colony Club, Melbourne-Viera FL recently announced through its IRCC Foundation, which is a charitable non-profit, that it had approved two grants benefiting active military and homeless veterans. The Foundation presented a $5,000 check to Operation Warm Heart and a $2,000 check to National Veterans Homeless Support. Operation Warm Heart (OWH) receives, manages, and distribute funds to deserving local members of the U.S. Armed Forces.
The National Veterans Homeless Support homeless vets with the basics to ensure their survival, while building rapport and connecting them to a network of community partners–moving them rapidly from homeless to housed. Send me more information about Indian River Colony Club!
Music Event at Dataw Island, SC
Dataw Island, SC continues lecture series.
> Dataw Island, SC announced that the volunteer-staffed Dataw Historic Foundation will be continuing its popular Lecture Series with a special event entitled “Voices of the Past: Songs from a Sea Island Plantation,” presented by Laura Riski and Guy Apicella, experts on the ethnomusicology of the antebellum period along the coastal Southeast. In support of the presentation will be vocalists Diane and Greg Elvin.
Time and place is Mon., Feb. 19 at 1:30 p.m. in Multi–Purpose Room of the Dataw Island Community Center. Send me more information about Dataw Island!
