The Year’s Most Popular Communities & States
> Mirabel, AZ: Memorable vistas & the No. 2 Most Viewed in Nov.
Over the course of 2016, 20 different golf and waterview communities took turns appearing in the Top 5 Most Viewed Communities each month. Ten of those communities are in Florida with three each in North and South Carolina. Here are the year’s Top 5 Most Viewed:

- Quail Ridge Golf & CC, Boynton Beach, FL
- Solivita, Kissimmee, FL
- Wycliffe Golf & CC, Wellington, FL
- Sailfish Point, Stuart, FL
Communities in Arizona (2), Texas and Massachusetts also made it into the Top 5. A Florida community was the No. 1 community in each month for the entire year.
The No. 1 most popular state that was searched for golf and waterview communities was, by far, the state of Florida.Ā South Carolina was ranked the No. 2 most-searched state nine times. COMMUNITY OF THE YEAR 2016
Harbour Ridge, FL: Activities on land and water are a big draw.
For the second year in a row, Harbour Ridge Yacht & Country, Palm City, FL, has earned ‘Community of the Year’ honors on the Golf Course Home Network. The community was the Most Viewed Community on the GCHN website in 10 out of 12 months during 2016. Only St. Andrews Park, FL, and Jupiter Country Club, FL, were able to capture the top spot during what was a dominant year for this repeat winner.

21 GCH Courses Earn Golfweek’s “Best Residential Courses” Award for 2017
in Awards & Honors, Best of the Best, Golf Architects, Golf Course Rankings, GolfWeekGolfweek Magazine has issued its Top 200 ‘Best Residential Courses’ list for 2017 and 21 Golf Course Home communities are on the list. Overall, the GCH contingent represents nine states, lead by South Carolina with seven courses followed by Florida with five. Arizona and Georgia came next with three and two tracks, respectively.
Reserve at Lake Keowee, SC: One of 7 Jack Nicklaus winners.
Thirteen different golf course designers had their names up in lights as well with Jack Nicklaus outpacing all others with seven layouts. Tom Fazio was the second most mentioned with four. Other notable names on the list include Bill Coore/Ben Crenshaw, Tom Watson, Rees Jones, Pete Dye, Arthur Hills, Ron Garl and others.
Information included with the golf course name is the city and state, course architect and year opened.

> Palmetto Dunes, Hilton Head Island SC has just reopened its Robert Trent Jones and Arthur Hills courses, along with the Palmetto Dunes Golf Academy. During storm cleanup following Hurricane Matthew, all three of the resort’s world-class layouts were overseeded – tee boxes, fairways and greens – so they will be in lush condition and fully playable this holiday season.
