Instead of a Black Friday newsletter, I thought I would write you to thank you for your support and reliance on GolfCourseHome over the past 20 years–that’s how long we have been providing information, travel packages and news on master-planned golf and waterview communities. From first appearing as an insert into INC. Magazine in 1995, to debuting on the web in 1999 to launching our newsletter the following year, it has been our pleasure and often just plain fun.
More than that, the most gratifying moments during this time has been when I receive a letter or email telling me about the home a GCH visitor has just bought and how they used GolfCourseHome to plan trips and compare communities. Many of you have been subscribers to our newsletter for five, 10 years or longer. I can’t tell you how pleased that makes me and our editorial team feel.
Coming Improvements
Going forward, we are implementing many improvements. The mobile version of GolfCourseHome was just launched and you probably have already used it. We are adding the inquiry form right onto the Featured Community page itself which eliminates the need to click to the form.
And a new comparison feature will soon be launched in which you will be able to compare communities side by side for features and prices and then inquire to all your selections by filling out just one form.

In addition, you may have noticed that we are focusing more on retirement planning. As part of that expanded editorial coverage, we are in the process of creating the new GCH Retirement Planning Advisory Board which will consist of industry experts who will be offering their advice and expertise in the new year on the many aspects of planning for retirement and retirement living. These additions are just the beginning of the list of improvements you will see in 2016.
This note has gotten long, but we don’t often take the time out to give thanks and take stock. The new 80,000 SF clubhouse was a central part of the $33 million the club spent on renovations which added 22,000 sf of space and plenty of glitzy amenities to every aspect of the high-end club’s operation.

The Atrium in The Club at Ibis
Ibis members were joined by the Nicklauses, whose family has designed the three respected golf courses at Ibis, West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio and Ibis management and staff.
The extension creates more than 40 percent additional space and allows new restaurants such as The Atrium and The Pub to move upstairs and take advantage of the eye-catching scenery of the Nicklaus courses.
The Atrium Lounge, with its 23-ft ceilings, will provide a comfortable, casual setting for lunch and dinner on the upper level. New Clubhouse Offers Elegant/Casual Dining
For elegance, there’s The Grand Ballroom that accommodates 450 diners or can be subdivided into three more intimate settings. The Palm and Ficus Rooms can serve as gathering spots prior to an event in The Grand Ballroom or used on their own for smaller parties.
“It’s exciting to see the look on the members’ faces when they walk in and see the new clubhouse for the first time,” said Stephen LoGiudice, Ibis’s General Manager/COO. “The club has truly transformed itself into one of the most innovative and competitive clubs in our market place.”
Among the highlights on the clubhouse’s lower level is Panache, a fine-dining restaurant that also can be used as a place for private parties and celebrations. Panache will also include a chef’s table area so people can watch their meals being prepared to add to their dining experience.
Golf Improvements
The Golf Shop has been enlarged and features more merchandising space and the Golf Desk is centrally located to better serve Ibis’s members. The Locker Rooms have been enhanced with the Men’s showcasing dark, masculine colors and the women’s utilizing softer tones.
Ibis is also introducing The Renaissance Room, a 1,500-square-foot room that will be the perfect setting for the clubs within the Ibis Cultural Association to meet for classes, lectures and seminars.
