Quilts for Kids at Dataw Island, SC
Dataw Island, SC: Donating quilts to Head Start kids.
> Dataw Island, SC held a presentation ceremony last week for its Dataw Island Quilters activity group, as some 50 hand-sewn childrenās quilts were donated to St. Helena Early Learning Center, a Head Start preschool program.
The quilts are provided to three-year-olds at the start of the school year and the same quilt remains with them for their years in the program. Staff members wash the quilts weekly, so the children have them for each day’s naptime. When a child leaves the program, they will take their quilt with them. > Sea Pines Resort, Hilton Head Island SC announced the installation of a genuine Fresnel lens in the iconicĀ Harbour Town Lighthouse. The red-and-white striped Lighthouse serves not only as a beacon to the many ships that reside in the Yacht Basin but also as a landmark that symbolizes the region and the resort.
