Mike Lissner Named Director of Tennis at Reserve at Lake Keowee
The Reserve at Lake Keowee has hired Mike Lissner to be its full-time Director of Tennis and support the club’s growing tennis program.
Mike Lissner comes to The Reserve having previously worked at Norbeck Country Club in Rockville, Md., where he served as Director of Tennis. He started at The Reserve at Lake Keowee on March 1.
Lissner will be offering private lessons and complimentary weekly clinics for beginners to seasoned players. He will also help the club’s growing number of Pickle Ball players, oversee court scheduling and promote travel-league play. Send me more information about The Reserve at Lake Keowee!
The club’s tennis program has grown to include 8 USTA teams.
Over the past several years, The Reserve at Lake Keowee’s tennis program has grown substantially with eight teams now competing at the USTA level (three ladies’ teams, one men’s team, two mixed teams and two combo teams). One of the mixed teams and the men’s team played in the state championship in their first two years.
Nearly 100 of The Reserve at Lake Keowee’s residents (31 percent of total residents) participate regularly in tennis activities. In addition to the competitive tennis, social tennis has become very popular with Reserve members. On Friday evenings all levels of players get together to play, have dinner and enjoy a good time.
Lissner and his wife, Chrissie who also has a strong tennis playing and teaching background, relocated to Upstate S.C. from Ellicott City, Md. They have resided there for the past 30 years. Mike and his older son, Ryan, have won numerous family and father-son championships. Lissner has been a finalist and winner of many clay court championships over the past nine years.
