> Palmetto Bluff, Bluffton SC was recently recognized by Golf Digest for course design excellence in a lengthy feature article on “The 15 Best Risk-Reward Holes in Golf.” The magazine’s course-architecture editors named hole No. 7 of the May River Golf Club at Palmetto Bluff as one of their 15 selections.
The hole is a short, 336-yard par-4 on a championship layout described as “gorgeous and mysterious at every turn.” Players on No. 7 tee “must decide to either lay up to an island of fairway or take a swipe at a shallow green situated on another small isthmus of land along the marsh.” Send me more information about Palmetto Bluff!

> Desert Mountain, Scottsdale AZ is continuing its year-long program of amenity improvements and upgrades throughout the 8,300-acre community. In August club management installed new fitness equipment in the state-of-the-art Sonoran Clubhous athletic center.
