Together for a Cure at The Landings, GA

> The Landings, Savannah GA  has announced that Together for a Cure, a series of Landings community events organized by the Landings Women’s Golf Association will be held on April 12 and April 15.  Proceeds from TFAC go directly back into the Savannah community.

Beneficiaries include Mercer University School of Medicine Summer Scholars Program for cancer research, the Nurse Navigator Program at St. Joseph’s/Candler, and the Stephen D. Hollenberg Patient Assistance Fund.

Since its inception, TFAC has raised over $1.35 million for the fight against cancer in Savannah.  Send me more information about The Landings!

> Palmetto Bluff, Bluffton SC has a special musical event scheduled for Sat., April 22 at the Moreland Crossroads. As part of the Songwriters in the Round series, it’s a concert with Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, Jim Lauderdale, joined by Verlon Thompson and Lillie Mae.

Verlon is a singer-songwriter from Oklahoma whose original songs have been covered by Randy Travis, Kenny Rogers, Jimmy Buffett, Trisha Yearwood, and many others.

Lillie Mae is a country and Americana singer, songwriter, fiddle, and guitar player based in Nashville who has worked closely with Jack White and toured with Robert Plant.

Trail Updates at Woodside, SC

Woodside, SC: Making trail system even better.

> Woodside, Aiken SC has completed a cooperative effort between the Woodside Trail Group and the community’s development company to upgrade the Woodside hiking trail system. There are now blue paint blazes and signs installed at critical turn areas.

A parking area and trail kiosk has also been constructed where four of Woodside’s major trails meet. On Sat., April 15, the Trail Group will go on an off-site, hiking Big Rock Trail, a 3.7-mile loop in Sumpter National Forest. Send me more information about Woodside!

> The Landings, Savannah GA  is hosting the sixth edition of the Club Car Championship March 23-26, a Korn Ferry Tour event with a four-day, 72-hole, stroke-play format and a total purse of $1,000,000 in 2023. Spectators and guests will be treated to a full slate of events and activities taking place during tournament week.

Daily tickets start at $10, and kids 17 and under receive free grounds access with a ticketed adult. In addition, the tournament is proud to offer free admission to all approved Active Duty, National Guard, Military Reserve Service Members, Military Retirees, Military Veterans and First Responders. Moss Creek SC Event Focuses on Dog Parks

> Moss Creek, Hilton Head Island SC and the Moss Creek Owners Association will co-host a special event for dog owners on Thur., Jan. 19 from 5 to 6 pm at the Bostwick Pavilion. Titled “Dog Park Etiquette & Ask a Trainer Q&A with Maxine Fox.”

it will begin with Ms. Fox’s advice on best practices for using dog parks as recreational outlets for your dog. The remainder of the hour will be an open forum Q&A in which attendees can ‘Ask the Dog Trainer’ any dog-related questions. Information handouts will be available, providing further expert advice on pet training. The gathering will include raffle items and merchandise giveaways. There is no cost to attend. > Palmetto Bluff, Bluffton SC is pleased to inform resident members that the community’s full-time staff archaeologist, Dr. Mary Socci, is back in 2023 with an intriguing series of educational events and area explorations.

Dr. Socci begins the new season with a Wilson Cemetery Walk, guiding attendees on a tour of small graveyards in Palmetto Bluff’s Wilson Village area. Cataloging of artifacts discovered on the grounds of the community will continue as a key activity—some of what’s been archived so far extends back through 13,000 years of history. Summit Rock, TX: Hosting holiday events.

> Summit Rock, Horseshoe Bay TX and its residents will be enjoying the Winter Wonderland festivities happening throughout Horseshoe Bay Resort, which Summit Rock is a part of. The resort will host a Holiday Tree Lighting to illuminate its 50-foot tall Christmas tree on Sat., Dec. 3, hosted by Real Housewives of Dallas star Kary Brittingham, with complimentary fireside s’mores and hot chocolate for refreshment.

> The Landings, Savannah GA is congratulating Carol Preisinger, Lead Teaching Professional at The Landings Club, on news that Preisinger is a 2022 inductee into the LPGA Professionals Hall of Fame. An LPGA Master Professional since 2010, Preisinger has demonstrated leadership and service via the many positions she has held within the LPGA throughout her career.

She is a recent recipient of the LPGA’s Ellen Griffin Rolex Award, which recognizes an individual who has made a major contribution to the teaching of golf and emulates Griffin’s spirit and dedication. Send me more information about The Landings!
