Kiawah Island, SC: Golf course renovations under way.
> Kiawah Island, SC recently commenced its scheduled nine-month renovation of the Jack Nicklaus-designed Turtle Point Golf Course. The Nicklaus Design team has been hired to consult on the renovations.
Tees, fairways and greens will be converted to salt-tolerant Paspalum grass as part of the project. Renovations will include rebuilding all 18 greens including moving five greens, plus expanding fairway sizes from 20 acres to 34 acres. Tomasso, Turtle Point’s Italian restaurant, and the pro shop will remain open throughout the renovation. Send me more information about Kiawah Island!

> WindRiver, Lenoir City TN and its on-property Citico’s restaurant is partnering with Cork’s Wine & Spirits to welcome the principal winemaker of Schug Winery from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wed., Jan. 21. This special wine event is planned as an evening of lively conservation, light hors d’oeuvres and world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines.
