Continuing the momentum from a strong 2010 (which saw a 38% increase in home sales vs. 2009), The Landings on Savannah’s Skidaway Island reports that sales in the community have again outpaced national and regional real estate levels and trends.
According to Savannah Board of Realtor statistics, home transactions (closings) in all of Chatham County in 2011 were up 11.8% versus 2010 – but home closings in The Landings were up a robust 30.7% in that same time period.
“While lots of Savannah folks trade up to a community like The Landings, the majority of the community’s buyers came from out of the area,” notes Bill Houghton, president of The Landings’ homeowner association-owned marketing and sales firm, The Landings Company.
“We can track a lot of our incremental business to the national marketing and website efforts implemented in the last 12 months.”
The Landings was first established in the early 1970s, but has been homeowner- and member-owned since the original developer transitioned out in the 1990s. Click here for more information about The Landings!
